BMXAA8896E - This file type cannot be printed. To attach this file type, clear the Print attached document with report if printable type? check box.



Problem details:

In self Service Center if you try and attach zip file to the new SR via attachments | add new file you receive the message zip files cannot be printed, you click ok to this But it clears the attachment.

Replication Step:

1. Create a zip file.
2. Create a new SR using Report an issue is Self service Center
3. Add new attachment->add new file
4. Browse and select the file.
5. Click ok
6. Now you get error
  BMXAA8896E - This file type cannot be printed. To attach this file type, clear the Print attached document with report if printable type? check box.
7. This clears the attachment from the dialog box

Solution:

Launch the System Properties application.
Query for property - mxe.doclink.defaultPrintDocWithReport
Update 'Global Value' from 'true' to 'false'
Select Live Refresh for property - mxe.doclink.defaultPrintDocWithReport
Test results.
“As this is a Live Refresh property, you don't need to bounce the server or log out to verify.”
